Usually, a toddler doe not have a long attention span. Therefore, whatever activities you decide to share with him or her must not be extremely long. It is best to have several things on your agenda when you are planning fun activities with your toddler. Try to do activities that tend to entertain. Things, such as, pretending to sit and drink tea, picture game cards that teach about animal sounds and other kinds of games. All these types of activities usually will hold a small child’s interest.
If it is wintertime, you can venture outside and play in the snow. Making a snowman will certainly delight a toddler. You can teach a toddler to make snow figures by gently falling down. Take a drive to the local indoor skating rink where many mothers teach their children to skate each morning. Ice skating rinks offer parents and children skating lessons. Skating is great fun for all ages.
A nice afternoon trip to the neighborhood playground is a great place to spend time with a toddler. There is plenty there to hold their attention. The swings will amaze a small child. Most children want to stay on the swings all day. There may be an area to kick the ball around a little bit.
Do not forget about reading time for children at the town library. Toddlers love to listen to stories with other children. It is a good teaching tool as well as a fun activity. Afterwards, some libraries have an outside sitting area where anyone can sit and watch nature and the birds walking around.
It is also fun to build a fort using bed sheets. Once it is all finished, just sit inside it, reading some books and playing games.
Fun is whatever your imagination can create; therefore, the list of things is endless.
