You may be sitting down and trying to decide whether or not you want to send your toddler to preschool. Is it really worth it and how important is preschool for them?

Preschool is extremely important for your toddlers to attend before going to kindergarten. You may or may not have your child in daycare, which does help in teaching children to socialize, but within preschool they interact with other children and learn to take turns, share, and start to understand that they need to also share the teachers attention.Get more information here. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/editorials/2017083102_edit25earlylearning.html?syndication=rss

Along with developing social skills, they also learn some extremely important skills that are used in learning to read. If they do not already know it, they learn their ABCs and begin to learn what sounds each letter within the alphabet makes. This is extremely important when they begin to read.

They also learn their numbers. Again, they may already know how to count to a certain point, but in preschool, they will continue to develop their counting and also learn what the numbers look like. It is a great thing to be able to count, but they need to also learn how to recognize the numbers and also learn to write them.

In preschool they will learn different shapes also. What they look like and they will begin to make shapes also. They will start with the basics; square, triangle, circle; but will continue to move on from those.

In addition to the skills that they begin to learn, your child will also need to separate from mom. If your child has been going to daycare, they have had to separate then also, but they are familiar with that. In needing to separate in order to go to school, it is a different experience for them and it can be hard to do.

Preschool is a stepping stone in a child’s life that they really should have in order to get the most out of kindergarten. Not to say that a child that does not go to preschool will do poorly in kindergarten, but they will be behind the children that do go to preschool.

As parents, you would do anything to keep your children safe, but what about those times when you can’t be there for your kids when they get home from school. It happens to the best of us and sometimes you simply can’t be home when the school bus returns with your little ones. Perhaps you’ve raised responsible children but sometimes you just aren’t sure if they will be okay. That’s where a Home Security Family Plan could really come in handy.

The plan is simple, really. If you know there’s going to be a patch in your lives when you, the parents, won’t be home on time then you need to sit your children down and explain the situation to them and come up with a plan. If you’ve got a home security system, ADT or the like, then you can simply instruct your children on the proper usage of the system (arming, disarming, etc.), but there are other things you can go over if you don’t have a system. Instruct your children that they aren’t to have anybody else in the house until you get back and can supervise, and if you’re worried about your children then there are a number of call services that can call to check up on your children.

Being home alone, for many children, is a crucial step in developing independence and self-reliance. It’s a challenge to be embraced and not feared.

Being stuck indoors on a rainy day can often lead to boredom, misbehavior and a lot of frustration. There are many activities that are sure to keep both you and your child happy and busy while stuck indoors during a rainy day. One of the favorites of most kids is having a treasure hunt. This can be customized to children of any age, using picture clues for the younger ones and word clues for the older children. All you have to do is take a piece of paper and split it up.Get more information here. http://truthseeker411.com/2011/09/03/rainy-day-reflections/ Next you decide where you want to hide those papers and write or draw a clue on each one that will lead the child to the location of the next clue. After writing all your clues it is time to go hide them. Make sure you consider the children’s ages when deciding the difficulty of the clues. You do not want to make it to hard for them or this fun activity could turn into a nightmare. After you have hidden all of the clues you want to put some type of reward in the last spot so when they have gotten all of the clues they will be handsomely rewarded.

In today’s world there is a growing abundance of technology and more ways now than ever to get cut off from family and learning to develop keen social skills. Spending time with your family is extremely important because your family will be there for you when others fail to do so. Teaching your children the significance of respect, acceptance, tolerance, and obedience is crucial to their development and crucial to the way home life will be in the future years to come. You should always keep a calm attitude and a positive perspective around your children because it will help shape their decisions when they are on their own.

When it comes to family nights, encourage your children to put down their mobile phones and laptops and join in on a fun game or rent a movie and gather everyone around to enjoy some quality time together. Other useful ideas could be to plan family trips, holiday parties, karaoke night, arts and crafts night, and even plan food parties. If you have other family members, invite them over on some nights for a family dinner complete with movies, games, story telling, and other festive activities to lift the entire families spirit.

Your Child is showing an interest in potty training. What is done next is the determination of whether you are successful or not. There are many theories on how to approach potty training. How to know which one is best for your child is often a hit and miss time. One method may work for your child, but not your friend-s child. The important thing is to keep the experience positive right from the start. It will take a lot of patience and praise to get through this time with your child.

Keeping the experience positive is the most important part of the whole potty training. The child has to feel that it is a good thing to be going in the potty. Never get upset with them or yell at them when they are on the potty. They will associate this with negativity. It is best to praise them after they go potty. There are different theories on giving rewards. Some parents chose to give candy, stickers, or small toys for going in the initial stages. There are pros and cons with that theory. Take them in at least every hour until you begin to know their potty routine. Make it a fun time with toys perhaps. Don’t make them sit there for long periods of time with nothing to do. This will make it a negative experience. With luck your child will be potty trained in a few months.
